Certificate in Strategic Management

The Certificate in Strategic Management is an eight-session program sponsored by the Strategic Management Association. It is co-sponsored by the Association for Strategic Planning – Chicago Chapter and is designed to enhance the strategic management capability of established corporate planning units, strategic planning and management consulting firms and emerging strategy management professionals.

Up to eight, 3-person learning teams form a learning community. Each team within the learning community becomes skilled at creating, implementing and measuring performance against their own organization’s plan. In concert with the entire learning community, each team builds a strategic management system tailored to their particular organization.

Throughout the course, resources are provided to guide each team through the development and implementation of an effective strategic planning and management system. Included are the management principles and materials necessary to understand the process, a step-by-step methodology to the planning, implementation and performance evaluation process, key questions to ask and answer along the way, and the online and offline tools required to be successful.
